About Us
The Capital Area Dental Society (CADS) is the local component society of organized dentistry for Austin, Texas. CADS is part of a tripartite affiliation with the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. There are over 700 members of CADS and the list keeps growing! However, I consider CADS more than a local society for organized dentistry in Central Texas. It’s camaraderie, community and our willingness to do what’s best for our patients and profession. We have a unified mission to continue to make CADS the most unique local dental society in Texas. We do that by being inclusive of all members, volunteering in the community, supporting advocacy efforts to advance our profession, creating mentorship opportunities for new dentists with seasoned dentists and providing quality continuing education and events for our members. The CADS website is a valuable tool that provides information and resources that are useful to members in their life and practice. Our newsletter, Capital Star, is filled with updates, informative articles and pictures of CADS events and is a great way to catch up on anything CADS related.
The CADS Board of Directors volunteers their time and works tirelessly to ensure that members are taken care of and that they recognize the value of their membership. Our Board is just as diverse as our membership which makes our ideas innovative, forward thinking and welcoming. Our committees of the CADS Board host fantastic events that draw our members to local Austin hot spots and sporting events.
CADS General Meetings are at the iconic Austin Country Club and the setting is perfect for networking prior to a delicious dinner and a content rich continuing education course. Many dentists bring their entire team to the General Meetings for a nice evening out, team building, learning tools to help their office and earning continuing education credit. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to thank our CADS sponsors who have loyally supported our organization.
If you are interested in becoming a voice for CADS members during the House of Delegates at the Texas Meeting, serving as an Alternate Delegate or a Delegate for CADS would be up your alley! The House of Delegates is the legislative and supreme governing body of the Texas Dental Association and we are lucky to have a terrific and diverse group of dentists representing CADS in the Texas House of Delegates.
Whether you are a new dentist who recently graduated or a life-time member, there are benefits to everyone that joins. If you are not a member, be part of something bigger and join CADS!
