Let Us Help You Get Rid of That PAIN in the Neck

Dentists are particularly vulnerable to back, neck and shoulder pain simply due to WHAT you do every day.  We will share with you easy exercises, posture suggestions, stretches and offer advice on when to seek professional treatment.  These tips will help relieve your pain or prevent you from contributing to your own "pain in the neck"!

Course Objectives:

⦁            Understand the prevalence of neck/back pain among general population vs dental professionals

⦁            Learn how to prevent injuries: Best Posture, Sitting Position, Chair Set Up, Treatment Tables and Patient Positioning

⦁            Learn the correct stretches to prevent injury

Miranda McCoy, PT, DPT, MTC, SDN

Miranda McCoy graduated from St. Edward’s University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology.  She went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2015.  Miranda has taken several continuing education courses to gain further knowledge on orthopedic conditions, joint and soft tissue mobilizations, dry needling, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction.  In addition, she has earned her Manual Therapy Certification and Dry Needling Certification.  Her clinical experience includes pre and post-operative conditions for the spine and extremities, musculoskeletal pain, return to sport, and postural/body mechanics education.

Chris Panjavan, PT, DPT

Chris Panjavan received his bachelor’s degree in biology from The University of Texas at Austin and has over ten years of experience in the physical therapy field. After working as a physical therapy technician, he went back to school and earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2017.  Chris took several advanced spine and extremity orthopedic courses in evaluation, examination and manipulation.  He also earned his Dry Needling certification in his free time. 

Debrah J. Worsham DDS, TDA President

Dr. Debrah Worsham received her DDS degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1985, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture & Animal Science at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Dr. Worsham was elected to serve as President of the Texas Dental Association for 2021-2022.  Dr. Worsham has been involved in organized dentistry since graduating in 1985, and her first component assignment was in 1986 serving as the DENPAC Representative for the East Texas Dental Society.  Since 2001, she has served on TDA’s Council on Legislative, Regulatory, & Governmental Affairs (CLRA).  A member of ACD & ICD, she has served in a variety of leadership roles at the local, state, and national levels, including East Texas Dental Society President, the TDA Board of Directors, ADPAC Board, ADA Delegate and Alternate, and chair of DENPAC (2001-2005).  Dr. Worsham has published multiple articles focusing on advocacy and politics in the Texas Dental Journal and TDA Today.

Dr. Worsham is heavily involved in community service, from providing charitable care with TDA Smiles Foundation programs, to volunteering with Joaquin ISD, coaching softball, teaching Sunday school, and anything 4-H, from adult leader to participating in county livestock shows and sales.  Dr. Worsham practices full time in Center, Texas, where she graduated from high school.  When she is not practicing dentistry or serving the community, Dr. Worsham enjoys spending time with her husband Phil and family.
