President’s Message June 2019

Greetings fellow CADS members and colleagues.  I am excited to introduce myself as your 2019-2020 CADS President.  This year promises to be another great one for all of our current, new, and future members, and I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful group of like-minded dental professionals.  Our membership in this tripartite organization is a testament to our devotion to our profession, our patients, our staff, and our families.

To start, I would like to give you some of my background, so that we can become better acquainted.  I am first and foremost a mother of two precious children, Hunter (age 6) and Audrey (age 4), and the wife of our CADS Editor, Jonathon Kimes.  In my 12 years of practice, I have worked in a clinic, been an associate in a private practice, experienced a partnership, and now own my practice as a sole practitioner.  I am confident that my experience in the various practice models will allow me to relate to each of you, no matter what phase of your career you are currently experiencing.  I fully understand the sacrifices we make on a daily basis in order to do what we love – dentistry is a special profession!

My objective for CADS this year is simple:  Keep doing what we do well, while growing in the necessary areas to better serve our members and increase the value of membership.  To implement this, I am honored to lead an amazing and hard-working Board of Directors who is eager to bring you what you have asked for.  So stay tuned… this upcoming year will offer invaluable education opportunities, ways to serve locally with the Capital Area Dental Foundation, as well as statewide with Texas Mission of Mercy, and exciting social activities that vary from new dentist events, family-friendly events, and opportunities to bring our entire membership together.  We will continue to keep you informed of news and events at the national, state, and local level so that you can stay abreast of the current events of our profession.

I am looking forward to this upcoming year and want to invite any of you to call or email me any time, whether to say hello, ask questions on how to get involved, or discuss what you’d like to see from CADS this year.  Again, I am honored to serve as the President of what I believe is the best local dental society in the nation.
