Welcome to CADS, the Capital Area Dental Society!
Whether you are a relatively new dentist, or a “seasoned” dentist, CADS is here for you. As you browse through this issue of the STAR, please notice all the future events that are available for you. Certainly, CADS provides great continuing education opportunities. During the next year, monthly meetings will include programs to fulfill TSBDE requirements for opioid abuse certification (September), oral pathology (this month), updates for sleep dentistry, and several detailed restorative dentistry presentations that will enhance your clinical practice.
CADS is your primary dental resource within Central Texas. Take advantage of it. The most important benefit of CADS is not just continuing education; it is the friendships and relationships that you may build with other dentists within our community. We are fortunate to have a dental community loaded with exceptional talent and skills as well as a variety of personalities. Learning that endures originates from personal interactions. Get to know your fellow CADS members at our meetings, and enhance your new friendships by maintaining communication with phone calls, emails, texts, etc. I challenge every member to introduce yourself to at least two persons at every meeting… exchange contact information, which is so simple to do with your personal phone. There are no limits to what we can learn from each other! Back by popular demand, the October meeting will be Table Clinic Night…Mark the date and get ready to share! What technique, tip, or trick would you like to share? Reserve a table and do it!
If you would like to maximize your benefit from CADS, then GET INVOLVED! Volunteer to help with committees, or whatever interests you. Talk to a Board member: Ask them what they do and why they are involved with organized dentistry. You might just find out that the leaders of CADS cherish their friendships within the Society. Your future in dentistry can be optimized by meeting and interacting with your fellow dentists. Get involved and find out for yourself!
