Jeran Hooten

 

Jeran Hooten has been active in the Capital Area Dental Society since 1971 and has served in many leadership roles including President in the1981-1982 term. He has served as a Delegate to the Texas Dental Association many years and is always active in Legislative Affairs.  Born and raised in Austin, Jeran practices orthodontics at his Shoal Creek office.  He is married to Janet who is very active in the Dental Alliance as well as in our legislative efforts. They have two children, Jennifer and Jody.

 

Jeran has had a passion for competitive water skiing since age 14 and has placed second in National all-around competition in recent years, which includes slalom, jump, and trick skiing including barefoot skiing!  He has three lakes on his farm at Frame Switch near Hutto with two slalom courses and two jumps.

 

Recently, Jeran was the recipient of the Jeffry Armstrong Outstanding Official Award for Extraordinary Performance and Service as Officials at the South Central Regional Championships. He is particularly proud of this award, which is considered to be one of the greatest honors in the world of competitive water skiing.

 

I urge all of you that do not know Jeran as well as I do to make a point to visit with him. You will find him to be an interesting and always classy gentleman whom we are proud to have as a key member of our Capital Area Dental Society and the profession.
