Volunteering
with the Capital Area Dental Foundation: A Win-Win for Everyone
The Capital Area Dental
Foundation is an organization founded and run by dentists. We do everything we can to make volunteering
simple—and enjoyable. Forget any preconceived notions you may have about
volunteering. When you sign up to
volunteer with the Capital Area Dental Foundation, we work with you to match
you with the program that best suits your interests and your schedule.
You
decide: volunteer in your office or in a school. Let us do the rest. It’s that easy.
Program
Spotlight
Central Health
This brand new program allows dentists
to serve the community without even leaving the office. Sign up as a Central
Health provider and start receiving referrals from our program
coordinator. You decide on the number of
referrals you want to take and you’ll even be reimbursed for overhead costs at
a fixed rate. We are currently recruiting dentists with practices in Northeast and
Southeast Austin.
Donated Dental Services
The Donated Dental Services (DDS) is a
nationally acclaimed program that provides comprehensive dental care for
disabled adults or adults 55 or over with serious dental issues. Last year, with the help of about 50 volunteer
dentists, we completed 75 cases. Our
goal at CADF is to recruit at least another 50 dentists to participate in this
life-changing program. Adding new providers not only allows us to serve more
patients in need, it will lighten the load on some of our incredibly generous
dentists.
Dentists on Campus (DOCs)
Do you only have a few hours to
volunteer? Do you like being around kids? If so, the Dentists on Campus program
(DOCs) may be just the right fit for you. During the entire month of February,
CADF volunteers will visit 30-40 underserved Austin schools and teach students
how to take care of their teeth.
Volunteers are provided with everything they need for a successful
visit, including handouts and "goodie bags” for the kids. This is a once a year
commitment that our volunteers always love.
