Wow, I think it has been almost ten years since my last article in the Capital Star! I guess I should be embarrassed, considering I am a former Editor and know how they like to hear from the members. Maybe it is because Dr. Kelp has been doing such a great job that I have not felt the need.

 

But to my point – a new branch of CADS now exists, CADS Member Benefits. We hope it does not get confusing with all the different parts, but the overall goal continues, and that is to benefit our member dentists and the people we serve. CADS Member Benefits is set up to provide endorsements, much as the TDA does with Perks. Our board is separate from CADS and it is very experienced in dentistry and CADS. Our President is Dr. Don Taylor, and members are Dr. Tana Busch, Dr. Bill Estes, Dr. David Slaughter, Dr. Wayne Radwanski, Dr. Brett Strong, Dr. Matt Steinberg, Dr. Bud Neeley, and me.

 

This year we will have our first endorsements and we will add to them as we are able. We are looking for local companies that our members may use, either occasionally (such as an architect) or very regularly. We expect to get a discount for our members, a payment of some sort to CADS Member Benefits, and new customers to the business. A great deal for everyone! We are not going to compete with TDA Perks, which looks more at statewide companies. During this process, we will be looking for guidance from you. Do you have a local business you highly recommend? Or, did you have a bad experience with someone that did not get resolved and you think should not be recommended? We will focus on local companies that provide goods and services commonly used by member dentists.

 

The potential for this group is huge. We want to make it another great benefit of belonging to organized dentistry. Please use our endorsements when we get started – should be a great deal for all of us. Contact any of our board members – we are all very active.
