CADF Update February 2009

The Mission of your Capital Area Dental Foundation, supported by the Capital Area Dental Society:
The Board of Directors met on January 6th with the following attending: Drs. Leonard Dolce, Roland Davies, Stan LaCroix, Dave Jackson, Kavin Kelp, Kelly Keith, Kent Macaulay, Barry Rouch, Lance Sanders, Jackie Vo, Michelle Freeze, Jeran Hooten, Jerry Katz, and Ms. Victoria Corcoran.
There is a concerted effort to finely focus the mission. Ms. Corcoran is a professional consultant for non-profit organizations and gave a most impressive presentation as to how she can help advance the Foundations progress in a meaningful and healthy pace. She had an opportunity to visit with Dr. Dolce prior to her presentation and is impressed with the amount of progress made by the Foundation in such a short time. We plan to have another presentation by Ms. Gigi Bryant at our January 27th meeting.
Dr. Dolce, Dr. Freeze, and Dr. Davies, have visited with executives from Dell Children’s Medical Center, Manos de Cristo, City of Austin Clinics, and Jack Sansing Clinic. The purpose of these meetings is to ascertain what the needs are in dental care and which needs are being met. These meetings also create an awareness of the Foundation and will help define the specific dental needs of the community.
There is great energy and enthusiasm among the Foundation Board but there is also much to be done. If you are interested in attending our next meeting or becoming a part of this most worthy endeavor, please contact Dr. Kelp at 306-0115. |
