“It’s about dentists helping dentists”
Cheryl Sanders, Carolyn Schilthuis, and Pat McCarty serve as Co-Chairs of CADA Fundraising and are working very hard continuing the tradition of the charities of the Capital Area Dental Alliance. This year they have mixed things up a little and I think that you will agree that their creative change will benefit all.
Rather than having two fundraising campaigns each year, CADA has combined the Silver Lining Fundraiser with the Lorene Sobotik Schlorship Fundraiser. Your donation will be split equally between the scholarship and dental health efforts unless you specify otherwise.
Last year, CADA awarded two $1000 dental health grants to charities with specific dental health projects and toothbrushes to organizations in need. Half of the total Silver Lining receipts are given to the Silver Lining Fund of the Alliance to TDA which gifts dental families should the dentist become unable to work.
If you become aware of a Texas dental family in sudden need of help or a local dental project that will benefit from a CADA grant for it’s dental health project, please contact Linda Radwanski, current president of CADA.
Three Lorene Sobotik scholarships were awarded in May 2008 to Austin Community College dental hygiene students, thanks to the generosity of CADS and CADA members. This scholarship was established during the 1980s after Dr. Ben and Lorene Sobotik, along with 2 of their children, were killed by a drunk driver.
Look for the letter in the mail and remember to be generous since this is now a one-letter campaign rather than two! |
