Frequently Asked Questions
What is Peer Review? Peer Review is an informal process through which problems and disputes are resolved by agreed mediation or committee review. Typically, this process seeks to bring a member dentist and a patient or third party into a mutually agreed resolution. Peer review is not a court of law and is not a punitive action hearing. There are certain rules which are strictly adhered to by those trainned to mediate as well as certain obligations of the member. The resolution of claims through peer review proceedings can avoid additional and unnessary costs and actions. For more information call the Chair of the Peer Review Committee listed under the Officers section of the Main Menu. |
